Which kind of grinding tool is better for disc type ball valves?
It is best to use pearlite cast iron for disc-type ball valve abrasives, or gray cast iron. Abrasives should be annealed before processing. The method is to heat it to 800°, keep it for 3 hours and then cool it slowly in the furnace (reduced by 30° every hour) to 650°, and then cool naturally in the furnace. The hardness of the working surface of the grinding tool should be between 40 and 210 HB, which can be selected according to the hardness of the parts to be ground and the abrasive grain size. The higher the hardness of the parts to be polished, the higher the hardness of the abrasive tools. The larger the abrasive grain size, the lower the hardness of the abrasive tools.
Commonly used abrasive tools can be replaced according to the size of the valve being polished, and the guide device can also be selected according to the valve channel diameter. The universal joint is used to avoid tilting the grinding tool due to uneven pressure on the regrind tool. For manual grinding, it can be made into a handle shape. If using a drilling machine or other mechanical grinding, it can be made into a bit shape. The radial gap between the guide and the parts to be ground should be no more than 0.1 to 0.2 mm (depending on the size of the valve).
If it is not convenient to install a guide device on the disc type ball valve grinding tool, a sleeve guide device can be used to grind the sealing surface of the valve seat of the wedge gate valve. When grinding the gate of the gate valve, a flat plate grinding tool can be used. It moves evenly across the entire surface of the abrasive tool.
The flat plate should be checked frequently to check the flatness of the working surface of the grinding tool. The radial clearance should not be greater than 0.1 to 0.2mm (depending on the size of the valve). Each abrasive particle size of the chip ball valve should have its own special grinding tool.
